P1 Mrs Gavero

smiley Welcome to P1 Gavero frown

There are 22 children in our class and we have great fun every day.

Mrs Irwin-Martin and Mrs Ewen are our wonderful classroom assistants. Mrs Teer also helps us in class.

Come and have a look at our photographs and see what fun we have in P1 G!

A highlight of our Northern Ireland topic was definitely making champ and tasting apples! We got to help make some champ and then got to eat it. Some of us weren't too keen on champ whilst others loved it and had 2 bowls!! smiley We also got to taste 4 different types of apples; Granny Smith, Royal Gala, Pink Lady and Golden Delicious. The children discovered that some of the apples tasted a bit sour, some were sweet and some were very crunchy! We hope you don't get hungry looking at our photos!!
We have had lots of fun learning all about Northern Ireland over the past few weeks. We learnt about lots of different places and foods that grow in here. We have continued to develop our listening skills in literacy and in numeracy we have been looking at shapes, making patterns and practicing our counting skills. We really enjoyed the Pumpkin decorating competition and getting to see all the scary and funny pumpkins!
We helped to celebrate some birthdays in P1G. Don't we look great in the birthday hat?!

What a fun, exciting and busy week we have had in P1! We had a visit from the Police to hear all the things they do in the community to help us, we enjoyed playing the drums with 'Gathering Drums', dressed in yellow clothes for our 'Mellow Yellow' Day on Thursday and had a visit from some very cute baby chicks! Phew! We will need a big rest this weekend laugh
Playing outside is an important part of the Foundation Stage curriculum, so we made the most of the sunshine over the past few days!
We have had an action packed September here in P1G, settling in and becoming familiar with new routines, making new friends and most importantly having lots of fun!! We have been focusing on People Who Help, learning to develop our listening skills and sorting. We hope you enjoy looking at our photos laugh
