BROOKIES WELCOMES JOE WICKS!
WHAT. A. DAY. 😀
Brooklands was buzzing yesterday as we welcomed the Body Coach, and the nation's lockdown PE teacher, Mr Joe Wicks!!! It was the grand finale of Joe's UK schools tour to promote his first children's book "The Burpee Bears" - on sale now!
Joe arrived at Brooklands to a mid-morning fanfare of every pupil and member of staff who created a carnival atmosphere at our front steps! He led 2 separate sessions with our P3s and P4s where he led a workout and read his brand new book. We were delighted to be joined by Belfast-based illustrator Paul Howard too, who drew a Burpee Bear for the children.
After lots of photos, some book signing and cupcake eating, Joe visited the Learning Support classes for a quick hello then headed to the dining hall where the delighted dinner ladies got to meet him at long last!
Huge thanks to Joe for his energy, care & enthusiasm for our pupils, to Louisa from Harper Collins for coordinating the visit, to illustrator Paul for joining in the madness and to Mrs Henry for her delicious Joe Wicks cupcakes!!!
