P6 Literacy 10th March
Phonics
This week we are looking at the "f" sound (see Tuesday's Literacy page). For today's activity, choose some of your words and put them into sentences of your own (at least four sentences please).

Main activity
Today there are two comprehensions to choose from.
You need to decide if you are going to complete the higher level comprehension or the lower level comprehension. Then watch the videos and download the worksheets for your task.
For both groups, after reading through your comprehension text, you will be focusing on clarifying words and answering some questions.
For some questions, you'll need to use a dictionary. If you haven't got a dictionary at home, use an online dictionary such as Oxford Learner's Dictionaries https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/

Let's find out about today's clarifying and comprehension tasks
Before you begin to answer the questions, it's important to think carefully about the vocabulary which has been used in the passage and to clarify the meaning of the trickier words. Look up the meaning of each of these words in your dictionary and discuss the meaning with someone at home. You don't have to write out the meaning but do talk about it please.
- stumpy
- isolated
- oddly constructed
- steward
- unflappable
- precisely
- agitated
If there are any other words which you don't understand, please find out their meaning too!
Then read through the questions carefully and write out your answers on a separate page. Don't forget to write in full sentences please and look back at the passage to find the evidence. Check your spelling and please include the necessary punctuation including capital letters, full stops, apostrophes, etc.
