Literacy

Extreme Expression Competition...

You may remember during Book Week last year, you had the chance to enter a competition called 'Extreme Expression'. A pupil in our year group won this competition last year!

To jog your memory...

For your 'Extreme Expression' entry you need to think all about your delivery of a short piece of writing.

You may choose an excerpt (a little chunk) from a book you have read or if you are feeling very creative you might choose to make up your own short piece.

When writing or choosing your excerpt, think about the language that will help you to be able to be as expressive as you possibly can be when reading your piece. Adjectives and onomatopoeia could be particularly useful.

Today, we would like you to spend your literacy time choosing your piece for the 'Extreme Expression' competition and practice saying it aloud.

You might want to use a mirror to practice into (this will help you with your facial expressions during the delivery) or you could ask someone at home to be your practice audience.

Practice makes perfect!!

In order to enter this competition, you will need to get someone to record your performance

An adult can then send your entry to the given WhatsApp number: 07539004139
