Phonics
This week we are looking at the "n" sound (see Tuesday's Literacy page). For today's activity, practise spelling the more difficult words from your "Words for Sorting" page ahead of tomorrow's dictation.
Don't forget to log in to BugClub to do your daily reading please! If you can't remember your log-in details, please email your teacher.
Main activity
Take a close look at this illustration. Today we are going to use our inference skills to work out what is happening in this picture by looking for the clues.
What's happening in this illustration?
Which character do you like the most? Why?
Can you relate to either of the characters?
What are the characters thinking?
Why is the title of the illustration 'Pegged'?
Can you think of a better title for it?
Discuss your ideas and thoughts with someone at home. Then download the 'inference questions' sheet and answer the questions being as creative as possible and using your imagination. Being inferential questions remember there are no wrong answers. The objective of this task is to fill your brain with lots of amazing ideas and thoughts in preparation for writing a creative piece of writing based on this illustration tomorrow.
Your teacher would love to see your thoughts, ideas and answers to these inferential questions so please do email them with your answers.
