Tag rugby blitz at Regent House!

Our P6 classes have benefited from expert rugby coaching from Civil Service and Ards Rugby clubs this year.  Today we headed to Regent House School with 23 players to take part in their annual P6 tag rugby blitz and had an amazing morning playing against local teams.  We scored plenty of tries and well done to all our players for being excellent ambassadors for Brooklands!

Culture Week 2026!

We spent a super week at the beginning of June learning all about the history and culture of South Africa.  We also ate some South African food including biltong and rusks, learned to count to 10 in Africaans and, on Friday, shared our favourite facts in a special whole-school assembly.

Extended Schools event

Some members of our class joined with pupils from other local schools to enjoy learning about birds of prey. They loved meeting the team from World of Owls and took turns to hold these incredible owls.
 

Book swap with P4Gillespie❤️

On World Book Day, we read with our new friends from Miss Gillespie's P4 class.

Our visit to Silver Threads at St Mary's Church

As part of our annual Book Week, we headed to St Mary's to share our favourite books with the ladies and gentlemen who attend Silver Threads each Monday morning.  We also had a good chat about their favourite books!

Badminton Festival

We love our weekly badminton lessons with Johnny from Ulster Badminton and some of us were lucky enough to attend a Badminton Festival in Lisnasharragh Leisure Centre in February.

Children's Mental Health Week art lesson

We spent a wonderful morning creating artwork with Sinead from The Art and Design Factory showing our Happy Places.

Our Viking brooches 

We created these beautiful brooches from clay.  Our designs are based on a Viking brooch which was found at Ballyholme Beach.

Our visit to North Down Museum

We had a fantastic day at North Down Museum in January learning all about Life in Viking Times.
