The Belfast Blitz:

Reading Activity

 

In April and May 1941, the German Air Force (Luftwaffe), bombed Belfast.

The main targets were the Harland and Wolff Shipyards, Shorts Aircraft Factory, Belfast Power Station, the Waterworks and Gasworks.

However, 55,000 homes were destroyed, 900 people were killed and 1500 injured.
