Another month has gone in a flash...but it was one we won't forget in a hurry at Brooklands!
We've welcomed special visitors to school from the NSPCC and the iRock School of Music as well as supporting Dundonald Foodbank through our annual Harvest assemblies, when friends Richard and Myles from Christ Church Presbyterian shared a Christian message with us.
Pupils in P2 to P7 participated in the first ever Bug Club Battle, an online reading competition designed to raise attainment in comprehension skills. New after-school clubs in cookery, hockey and football are now in full swing, plus Mrs Bell's Senior Choir, with further girls football and netball clubs due in November. The P4s visited Castle Espie and the P5s welcomed the Fire Brigade to school...what a busy time!
Of course, we celebrated a very special birthday in October - Peanut, our therapy dog, who turned one! Brooklands celebrated its famous four legged friend in style with Literacy and Art competitions, a whole school Birthday Party Assembly, discos for every year group AND a massive parade around Dundonald supported by the PSNI, Sustrans, local councillors and MLAs plus the generous team at Asda Dundonald who supplied Peanut with a treat-filled birthday present!
We're now about to enter the 7-week run to Christmas...you can stay up to date with what's happening by following our Instagram account: brooklandsprimaryni
