We have amazing fun each day in school.📚 We play with amazing toys 🧸and games 🎯 both inside and outside our classroom. 🛝 Have a look 👀 at our photographs 📷 to see what we have been up to!

We have decorated hard boiled eggs as Humpty Dumpty today! 🥚

Today was a day for making pictures, we had to sequence the numbers in the correct order from 1 to 10 to see what it was a picture of! When the activity was complete we were able to see a picture of a play park. 🛝

We have learnt a new version of the Nursery Rhyme “Humpty Dumpty”

🥚Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall, eating ripe bananas. 🍌What do you think he did with the skins? Put them down the King’s pyjamas! 👑

Counting fun for everyone! Mrs Massey is very impressed with our counting skills, she says we are ready for P3!

We really needed to use soap when we came in from outside today because our hands were dirty ! 👏🏻 We watched one of our favourite programmes, “Come Outside”, ✈️ to find out how soap is made. We had such fun jumping in the puddles this morning!☔️ Isn’t this the most fabulous puddle you’ve ever seen? 🥾☔️

Finishing patterns is what we got up to at work time. We had to complete the Humpty Dumpty patterns. 🥚👑🐴 We all really impressed Mrs Massey.

What was hidden in the rice today? Mrs Massey had hidden pieces of Humpty Dumpty in the rice and we had to gather all the pieces and rebuild him!

We have taken part in a STEM activity today. As we know poor Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall. We were investigating which materials would work well as a safety blanket for him to land on!

We are artists! 👩‍🎨 We have been painting pictures today at outdoor play time this morning!

We completed an obstacle course today - even Mrs Massey gave it a go!

Challenge: Order the pictures from biggest to smallest.

Following directions :

today some of us were following pictorial directions to see if they were true or false statements. We had to use a picture grid to move from a starting object and work our way to a finishing object.We have been trying very hard to use the correct directional language such as left and right, forward and backwards, up and down as well as a very difficult word - diagonally!

We are playing Humpty Dumpty Matching. We have been better at re- building Humpty Dumpty than the King’s men were!👑🐴

More work on our fine motor skills today trying to land the planes on Mars, Saturn and the Earth. Well done boys you have landed on the planets!

Oh I am delighted to be back at school today after our Hallowe’en holidays!👻 I hope everyone had a lovely break, I know I did but I am so pleased to be back with all my friends again ! 🥰

What a day, all that rain! 💧☔️ It didn’t stop us having fun. We played in the puddles all morning!

Challenge -: Use the conkers to make caterpillars, then count the number you have used for each one. 🐛

We played a maths game called “Roll a Scarecrow”. We had to gather all the bits before we made the scarecrow.

Challenge:- Build a City using the correct number of cubes.

Challenge:- Make groups of 4.

Mrs Massey forgot to take photographs of us having fun with our Tuff Tray challenge today! Hopefully she will remember tomorrow! 👨‍🏫

Using bingo dabbers to improve our hand eye coordination as well as working hard on our pencil grip. The end result was a gorgeous hedgehog 🦔!

Today was about showing our Numeracy skills by mapping numerals to matching sets! Mrs Massey is very impressed with how fabulous we are! 🥰

More fun with Bee Bot today! 🐝

We have used Bee Bot and have learnt how to get him to go forward, then complete a turn to the right and then to move forward again. We have been using him to move between the numbers 1 - 5 in the correct order. Miss Peacock really enjoyed working with our new friend Bee Bot!

We used a glass to push down in the water to see what we could find hiding underneath . 🔭 We then ticked the items off our checklist when we had spotted them. ✅😍

Playing “Penguin Peril” with a friend . 🐧 Learning to take turns and sometimes having to miss a go when the spinner lands on 🛑.

Challenge- Count the people into the houses.

Anyone for conker stew? 👨‍🍳

We have been using buns to make hedgehogs.🦔 We dipped them in chocolate, added two eyes and then used Matchmakers as spikes! We can’t wait to eat them at home.😁

We have started learning to code using a robot called Bee Bot 🐝

Using the balance to investigate how many conkers each car weighs.⚖️🚗

Jumping into a new day of fun at Brooklands! 🥰

Challenge - Build a tower and roll a conkers down the tube and see what number you can score.🎯🏢

Today we have been using our skills to subitise when using dice. 🎲

We are rolling a dice and then colouring a scarecrow’s body parts as per the instructions. We have been using felt tip pens and are making sure to hear the “click “ when we put the lids back on so we know that they are closed correctly. ✍️

Mrs Massey came up with a fantastic idea for some of the Autumn leaves we collected! 🍁🍁

We have made Autumn Globes (our version of a snow globe) . Have a look at how much fun we have had making them!

Mrs Massey has made a function machine to complete calculations- we are using conkers to help us add on 1. 🧮

We have been painting today with water 💧 on the wall outside our classroom. Look how much fun we are having. 🥰

We have been practising our subsidising skills today playing a game with Mrs Todd to see who can build their ten frame first. We have been working on turn taking and having to, at times, miss a go as we rolled a number that was bigger than the number of spaces we had left on our ten frames. Mrs Todd unfortunately did not win even one game! 🥲

We have been working on our hand eye coordination and our core strength by lying on our tummies on the swing and squeezing paint onto a page to make an autumn picture!

We are finding teddies in the water and in the foam and then sorting them into the correct box according to colour. The teddies in the foam needed a wash before we sorted them! 🧸🛀

It was absolutely fantastic to have all the parents in our room on Friday 19th September - it was such a treat to let you all see what we get up to each day! Thank you all so much for taking the time to come! ⭐️

We are taking part in lots of STEM activities. STEM is an acronym and it stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. It helps us discover real world applications, sparks creativity and develops our 21st century skills.

Using Autumn leaves to make a gorgeous crown fit for a king 👑 🤴.

We painted our hedgehogs today, aren’t they gorgeous!🦔

Today was all about developing our hand muscles, a super start for beautiful handwriting! We are using clothes pegs to put spikes on hedgehogs. 🦔 We are also using our Numeracy skills to count within 10!

We have made hedgehogs 🦔 today using Model Magic . Their eyes are made using cloves and we’ve used scissors ✂️ to make their spikes. All that is left to do is paint them brown! 👨‍🎨🎨

Mrs Massey’s big boy Bryn is building something new for us in our Outdoor Classroom! What can it be? ⭐️

It is a swing!!! We love it, thank you Bryn!

Miss Peacock’s friend Rachel has given us some new table top games and we are loving playing them!! Thank you Rachel! 🥰

We have added a bird feeder to the outside of our classroom window. We are hoping that some gorgeous birds come to enjoy it! 🐦

Autumn has definitely arrived in Dundonald.🍂 🍁We are using the leaves to make lots of different things on our Tuff Tray.

Mrs Massey programmed one of her magic talking buttons so that we could press it to hear what our task was- it said “Can you make a face?” 😁

How wonderful do our faces look made out of natural materials? They are nearly as handsome as our real faces!🥰

We are going on an Autumn Walk 🍁 with our magnifying glasses 🔍to find Autumn colours in our Outdoor Classroom! 🕵️‍♂️

We found some blackberries growing outside our classroom and we collected them. Miss Peacock then used them to make our playdough this week! Isn’t she amazing? 🥰
