Under current guidelines we plan to reopen the school using the 2:1:2 system from 24th August. Under this system children will be in school two days each week. We will use two groups, Group A and Group B. These groups have been formulated using family and as far as possible friendship relationships. We have tried to make sure that each pupil is in school on the same days as at least one of their friends.

Group A will be in school on Mondays and Tuesdays. Group B will be in school on Thursdays and Fridays. School will be closed to pupils on Wednesdays to allow staff time to prepare home learning resources and for deep cleaning.

It must be stressed that this plan remains provisional and our wish remains to have all the children in school for the full week, but only when guidelines allow us to do so.

The first week is slightly different as we have been instructed to bring P7 pupils back first and we also want all the children to have at least one day in school that week.

For the first week, and also on Monday 31st August, pupils will finish at 12.30pm. This is because we are not permitted to provide school meals until Tuesday 1st September. From this date the canteen will provide pack lunches which will be delivered to the classrooms. A menu for this service will be published on the website well in advance of school opening.

At the start of each day pupils will be allowed to enter the building from 8.40am and proceed directly to their classrooms.

P1, P2, and P3 classes will enter through the bottom door in the junior playground.

P4 and P5 classes will enter through the door directly opposite the main office.

P6 and P7 classes will enter through the top door in the senior playground.

Staff will be positioned at each door to greet the children as they arrive and to assist the younger children as they move to their classrooms.

Parents should not enter the building and please exit the school grounds promptly.

Pupils will be dismissed from the same doors at the end of the school day.

From Monday 31st August Group A will attend school on Mondays and Tuesdays and Group B on Thursdays and Fridays.

P1 pupils have already been provided with details of their specific dates and times.

School Hours will be as Follows

P2 Classes   8.50am  -  2.00pm

P3 Classes   8.50am  -  2.00pm (Monday and Thursday)

                     8.50am  -  3.00pm (Tuesday and Friday)

P4, P5, P6, P7 Classes  8.50am  -  3.00pm each day

When the school week returns to normal P3 children will be in school until 3.00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and all pupils will finish at 2.00pm on Fridays.

At this stage we are unable to provide final guidance on when the Breakfast Club and Two O'clock Club will be able to resume.

You will receive confirmation of your child's group via text message which will allow you to plan for this possibility in August/September when the children return to school.

It is our hope to have all the children back in school 5 days a week as soon as possible and we will inform you if guidance to schools changes over the coming weeks.
