Today in Brooklands, we commemorated the fallen soldiers of World Wars One and Two and subsequent conflicts with a special Remembrance Assembly. Mr Armstrong led our special gathering and members of his P7 class read poems and prayers, including the well-known 'In Flanders Fields'. Laurie and Ellie from P7S/L laid poppy wreaths as everyone observed a minute's silence while listening to the familiar trumpet call of 'The Last Post'.
Thanks is expressed to pupils and parents for their overwhelming support in buying poppies and commemorative items in school this week. All proceeds go to the Royal British Legion, who in turn provide support and relief for injured soldiers and army veterans.
