Confidence!

Hearsay

We are learning about active listening and talking behaviours to help us comminicate! Hearsay runs throughout the engage program for P2 and P3.

Autumn 1

Meditations

 

We can do meditations to relax us.

 

P2 tried out the 'Floating on a cloud' meditation! We imagined ourselves lying on a big, fluffy cloud. We pictured ourselves going on a lovely, relaxing journey through the sky on our cloud. We imagined that the cloud was taking us to our favourite place smiley Afterwards, we felt peaceful and calm - ready to take on anything!

Breathing Wands

Deep breathing helps bring our heart rate down and can make us feel calm. We are learning lots of different breathing techniques such as 5 finger breathing, Rainbow breathing and Balloon breathing.

 

We made a breathing wand to help us practise our deep breathing! We can use them when we are feeling sad, worried or angry. Use your breathing wand to take 5 deep breaths when you feel like you need to smiley

Mood Monsters!

P2 were exploring their emotions and feelings - we made mood monster puppets! We talked about our experiences with feeling a range of emotions and shared them with each other. We know that when we are feeling sad, anxious or angry, that we can talk to someone about it.

P2 Yogies!

P2 went on a Cosmic Kids adventure and completed a yoga session! We learnt about all the benefits of yoga too smiley


We know that yoga can:

  • Help us feel calm
  • Improve our concentration and focus
  • Stretch and strengthen our muscles
  • Help with our balance and coordination

 

Sensory bottles!

P2 made sensory bottles!

 

  • We can shake our bottles when we are worried, upset or angry.
  • Watching the glitter swirl and settle can help us feel calm.
  • Sometimes our thoughts and worries can swirl in our heads, just like the glitter in the bottle!
  • Our thoughts and worries will settle too, just like the glitter.
