Monday 11th May |
Reading Log on to your Bug Club account www.activelearnprimary.co.uk Choose a book to read – don’t forget to click on the bugs and answer their questions!
Phonics - P3 today we are going to revise the sound oa. Think about your spellings boat, float, soap.
You will need resource oa activity 1. Can you choose the correct word to match the pictures/complete the sentences?
Challenge - you will need resource oa activity 2. Can you read the captions and draw a matching picture?

Number – P3 last week we were counting in 5s and 10s. This week we are going to revise counting in 2s.
Start with some oral counting. Can you – 1. count forwards in 2s starting at 22 and finishing at 46 ? 2. count backwards in 2s starting at 40 and finishing at 20 ?
Quick recall of number patterns will be helpful when moving on to P4!
Next you will need the resource counting in 2s. Choose the activity for your group.
Don’t forget to check your answers when you are finished P3! |
Food – Italy Today we are going to be learning about food from Italy. You will need the resources – map of Italy, world map and Italian food powerpoint.
Look at the map of Italy. What do you notice about its shape ? Now look at the world map – can you find Italy ? Italy is in Europe and Italian people love food!
P3 do you love pizza? What about ice cream? Miss McWilliams and Mrs Connery love both!
These foods come from Italy. Italy is famous for pizza, pasta, ice cream and coffee. Italian people love to eat big meals with their families and friends. Read the Powerpoint Italian food to find out more.
Now, think about ice cream (gelato), one of Miss McWilliams most favourite things ! Can you design Miss McWilliams an ice cream sundae? What flavours will you use? Will you add fruit ? Sauce ? Yum !!

Reading Log on to your Bug Club account. Choose a book to read. Talk about three things that happened in the book/story. You will need the resource – procedural writing_how to make a pizza
Log on to the C2k Newsdesk and search for pizza wars to find out more about pizza.
Procedural writing – how to make a pizza. P3 do you remember we wrote instructions for making a fruit salad? This week we are going to write instructions for making a pizza.
Remember, use bossy words and make sure your instructions are in order! |
Number – Begin today again with some oral counting. Can you – 1. count forwards in 2s starting at 12 and finishing at 38 ? 2. count backwards in 2s starting at 60 and finishing at 40 ?
P3 last week you completed an activity on www.topmarks.co.uk about halves and doubles. This week you will need the resource halves and doubles. Can you complete all the questions? As before, quick recall will be super for P4!

Food – Italy Pizza was invented in Naples and has become popular in many countries. Do you or someone in your family have a favourite pizza? Write a sentence describing your pizza.
Now, Mrs Connery loves pizza ! Yesterday you created an ice cream sundae for Miss McWilliams, today you are going to create a pizza for Mrs Connery. What size will it be? What toppings will it have ? Will it have tomato sauce or spicy tomato sauce ?
Draw a picture and label or write a sentence describing your pizza – Mrs Connery is getting hungry already, she’ll probably have pizza for tea tonight! |

Reading Log on to your Bug Club account. Choose a book to read. Who is the author? Did your book have an illustrator?
Describing words – Adjectives 1 P3, today and on Friday, we will be learning about describing words. Describing words are called adjectives. When you use adjectives in your writing it makes it more interesting.
You will need the resource adjectives 1. Look at the pictures. Can you think of an adjective to describe each picture ? |
Fractions – Pizza fractions
You will need the resource pizza fractions.
P3, today we are learning about fractions.
Can you draw a pizza and add the toppings correctly?
Read the instructions in the resource pizza fractions. Draw your pizza base and then divide your pizza correctly before drawing the toppings.

Food – France Today we are going to be learning about food from France. You will need the resources – map of France, world map and French food powerpoint.
Look at the map of France. Now look at the world map – can you find France ? Have you noticed how close it is to Italy ? France is also in Europe. French people love to eat in cafes and restaurants with their friends and families.
France is famous for cheese, bread, crepes, coffee and snails ! Read the powerpoint French food to find out more.
French crepes are a delicious treat. Write a couple of sentences describing what filling you would like in a crepe. Perhaps banana and chocolate sauce or bacon and maple syrup? |
