Oral counting – count forwards from 33 to 68 in a loud voice.
You will need the clock_o’clock resources.

Read the clocks and write the correct time. |
Food – Spain Today we are going to be learning about food from Spain. You will need the resources – map of Spain, world map and Spanish food powerpoint.
Have you ever been to Spain? Look at the map of Spain. Can you find it on the world map? Can you spot how close it is to France and Italy?
Now read the Spanish food powerpoint. Have you ever tasted any of these foods? Which foods would you like to taste and why? Write a sentence and draw a picture of the Spanish foods you would like to taste. Miss McWilliams loves a tortilla. Mrs Connery loves paella. We both love churros!!
Investigate, with help from an adult, what the Spanish flag looks like. Draw a picture of the Spanish flag. |

Sequencing Making a cake – You will need the resource sequence_cake.
Sam’s Mum made a cake. Sam wrote some sentences for his homework about the cake but he got very muddled! Can you help Sam rewrite the story in the correct order?

Data Handling – Venn diagrams
Oral counting – count backwards from 50 to 10 in a quiet voice.
We are learning to sort using a Venn diagram.
P3 do you remember we used a Venn diagram to sort sea creatures? Today you are going to use a Venn diagram to sort food and shape.

Food – You will need the resource Brookies Bistro Spain This week the Bistro has been inspired by food from Spain and Northern Ireland but we have got muddled again!
Can you help spell the foods from Spain correctly?

We live in Northern Ireland – can you find it on the map? Northern Ireland looks very small on a world map!
Champ, soda bread, potato bread and stew are well known foods from Northern Ireland.
Have you ever eaten champ or stew?
Today we would like you to investigate, with help from an adult, what ingredients you need to make champ and stew.
First we would like you to predict what you think is needed, then check with an adult to see if you are correct.
Then write a list of ingredients you would need to buy to make stew and champ. |

Writing -You will need the resources the day the crayons quit_red crayon extract and the day the crayons quit_activity.
Read the extract from the story The Day the Crayons Quit. Do you agree with the Red Crayon that he works too hard? Today you need to use your imagination P3. Imagine you are a different colour of crayon. What colour will you be? Write a letter to Duncan explaining why you quit!

Think, Pair, Share If you were opening a café or restaurant what food would you cook/sell for the customers? French? Spanish? Italian? Fish and Chips? Vegetables? Ice Cream? Cakes? What would it be called? Share your ideas with your grown up/thinking partner.

Food/Farm – next week we will start to think about farming. We will be learning about animals, machinery and crops. We will be thinking about how food and farming are linked.
