Apostrophe of Possession - The 'Belonging' Apostrophe.

Using the belonging apostrophe is not as difficult as people think!

Look first of all at this example.

'Our apple tree's leaves have turned brown.'

In this example, there is only one tree, and so we write tree followed by an apostrophe and s (tree's)

Now look at this second example.

'At breaktime the boys' football flew over the fence.'

In this example, there are lots of boys, and so we write boys followed by an apostrophe (boys')

Before you attempt any questions, make sure you read through the examples at the top of the worksheet.
