Main activity
This week's P6 Literacy tasks are based around "Mister Skip" by Michael Morpurgo. Each day, Mrs Bell will read one chapter of the book with you. You can read along with her because all of the words are also on the screen. Then we will complete our written activities based on an excerpt from that chapter. Today we are reading Chapter 3 and then thinking about parts of speech such as nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs.
Extension Activity - Predicting
Chapter 3 ends with Jackie's mum saying that they need a miracle. Does this miracle happen, is there a twist or are they disappointed? Using the reciprocal reading skills that you have developed over the last while, write a paragraph and email it to your teacher predicting what you think happens next to Jackie. Does Mr. Skip save the day and prevent Jackie from being humiliated in front of the Crazy Cossacks? Then you can listen to Mrs. Bell reading Chapter 4 tomorrow to see if you are correct.
Play Live Words!
Oh my goodness, it is tight at the top of this week's leaderboard! Will Abby finish the week as our champion? Head to Education City https://go.educationcity.com/ and let battle commence! Good luck!
