Pronouns revision
For today's Literacy lesson, we are going to revise pronouns.
Pronouns are words that take the place of nouns in a sentence. They are usually short words like 'it', 'she', 'he', 'you', 'we', 'they', 'us' and 'them'. They are used to describe either individual or groups of people/animals/objects, rather than using their name or names.
For example, instead of writing
John chased after Lisa but John couldn't catch Lisa.
We could replace the second John with "he" and the second Lisa with "her"
John chased after Lisa but he couldn't catch her.
