Join Mrs Bell as she revises factors and introduces today's tasks.

Mental Maths warm-up

It's time to warm-up our Maths brains!  Try your very best to do these questions in your head.

Add together the two next-door numbers and write the total in the circle above.  Complete each level until you reach the top spot!

Main activity

Today we are going to revise factors.   Begin by watching today's video and then choose one of the three challenges below.

If you choose the Low Level challenge, you can use a copy of your division facts to help you if you need it.

In the Medium Level challenge, you can use a copy of your division facts to help you but try to do as much as you can without any extra help.

If you choose the High Level challenge, try to complete all of the questions without using a copy of your division facts!

Key things to remember

  • Every number can be divided by 1 and itself.
  • A number whose only factors are 1 and the number itself is called a prime number.

  • If a number can be divided by 6, it can also be divided by 3 and 2.

  • If a number can be divided by 8, it can also be divided by 4 and 2.

  • If a number can be divided by 9, it can also be divided by 3.

  • If a number can be divided by 10, it can also be divided by 5 and 2.

  • If a number can be divided by 12, it can also be divided by 6, 4, 3 and 2.

Feel free to decorate your factor bugs once you've finished!  Then take a photograph of today's work and send it to your teacher please!
