  • Visit to Daisy Lodge

    Wed 14 Oct 2015

Mr McCartney and Mr Henry were privileged to receive and pleased to accept an invitation to visit Daisy Lodge in Newcastle. Daisy Lodge is the short break/residential centre run by the Cancer Fund for Children charity which our school has been supporting for the last few years. Our much missed brave boy Caleb stayed at Daisy Lodge with his family and the staff there shared their fond memories of him during the visit.

The £3 million centre is simply breathtaking inside and out - it is positioned on the Bryansford Road near Newcastle at the foot of the Mournes and with a view down to the Irish Sea. Inside there are first class facilities for families and children to relax and unwind and be looked after by a team of caring, professionally trained staff.

Brooklands Primary is proud to continue its support of such a wonderful local charity-keep an eye out for how we can ALL get involved in a brand new fundraising initiative for the Cancer Fund for Children in 2016.

  • Boo! Hiss! Hurray! The Merry Men come to Brooklands!

    Thu 01 Oct 2015

This week we welcomed back M & M Productions to Brooklands and it turned out to be quite a show! The group of young actors entertained the P2 to P7 classes with an all singing and all dancing performance of 'Robin Hood'.  We cheered and clapped for Robin and Maid Marian, booed loudly at the Sheriff of Nottingham and laughed out loud at the many great jokes and amusing lines! Both pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed the show, thanks and best wishes to the M&M crew as they tour Northern Ireland with such a brilliant production!
