A busy diary at Brooklands!

As January creeps to a long-awaited end (for some!), life at Brooklands starts to get busier with some wonderful special events on the horizon! 🤩

It's Children's Mental Health Week beginning Monday 6th February with a full programme of whole-school and classroom events to look forward to! Also that same week, school closes at 1pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so teachers can speak with parents about eqach pupil's progress so far this school year - please remember the day and time of your consultation with your child's teacher! 😀

School closes for half term on Friday 10th February at 12noon, re-opening Monday 20th February. 🗓

Next up it's our annual celebration of reading - our Book Week, from Monday 27th February to Friday 3rd March (including World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March) - a huge list of events will be revealed after half term! 📚

You'll notice some work going on around the building in various places - please follow signs or instructions for entering or exiting school grounds - we're sorry for any minor inconvenience this may cause.

Ashfield Champs!!!

What an amazing day!!!! The footballers returned victorious from the wonderful Ashfield HS 7-A-SIDE football tournament. Thank-you to everyone at Ashfield for a brilliant day and experience. It was great to be back after a few years of absence.

The Book Fair is back again for one week. All the children will get a chance to go with their class. You can pay online or your child can bring cash to school. All the details to follow!

School closed - Monday 16th January

School will be closed on Monday 16th January due to an issue with the heating. A temporary boiler is due to be fitted on Monday and it is our intention to reopen on Tuesday 17th. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Good luck to our P7 skiers who head to Bulgaria this Sunday for our annual ski trip! Our 25 pupils and three teachers are looking forward to a wonderful week in Pamporovo where they will have ski lessons every day and lots of fun activities to look forward to in the evenings.

Any parent or carer who has a child due to start Nursery or Primary One in September 2023, please note the Education Authority's online admissions portal opens at 12 noon this Tuesday, 10th January.

It will be available to access on the EA's website: https://www.eani.org.uk

More information will be available during week beginning Monday 9th January.
