Welcome to our News section!
Our P6 classes headed to the Moat Park today for a nature walk as part of Tree Week! Lead by Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council staff, we learned about the native trees, birds, bats and wildlife in our local area and had fantastic fun using binoculars, magnifying glasses and bat locators.
Thank you to Stephen, James, Aiden and Debbie for looking after us so well.
Friday 2nd December will be our Christmas Jumper day with donations being accepted for the Children's Hopsice.
We will also be completing a Christmas Mile that day and we encourage festive accessories such as santa hats, baubles, red & green hats, scarves & golves, tinsel or anything that spreads Christmas cheer.
Well done to our P6 and P7 girls who were selected for their first tournament of the season! You did yourselves proud and displayed fantastic commitment - well done!
Thank you to everyone who ordered our Christmas fundraising items such as cards, tea towels, mugs, etc. If you placed your online order by the original deadline of 13th October, your items will be sent home tomorrow (Friday 25th November).
Orders received after 13th October are now being processed and should be with us within the next two weeks.
Meet our new teacher, Baby Caleb!
Caleb and his mum, Mrs Vian-Coe, have joined us in our new Roots of Empathy program.
He will help us learn about child development and so much more!
We will be observing Caleb closely and trying to identify his emotions and methods of communication. Our pupils will reflect on a time they may have felt that emotion and develop their understanding of empathy.
Watch this space for further updates.
The FABULOUS FOOTBALLERS got on great guns last week at Londonderry park in their two league fixtures! A win and a draw wasn't too bad at all! Well done everyone! More of the same in two weeks!

School PE Uniform
Dear Parents/Guardians
With the importance of PE in school and the focus on physical exercise we have decided to offer you the opportunity to purchase a Brooklands PE uniform which your child may wear to school on the days of their designated class PE lessons. While this is not compulsory we thought it would help promote the importance of PE throughout the school and your child would enjoy wearing it to school on their PE day instead of their school uniform. The items and costs are:
PE hoodie £17.50
PE polo shirt £10
Navy tracksuit bottoms £15
These will be available to purchase from our uniform supplier, Uniformstore NI, on Monday 28TH November from 8.30 to 9.30am and from 1.30-3.15pm in the school playground under the canopy outside the assembly hall situated in the school playground. Please bring cash as payment by card will not be available. If you cannot make it at these times they will also be available from their shop which is situated at 61 High Street, Newtownards, BT23 7HS (next to House Proud), 07498739606.
As previously stated this is not compulsory and your child can continue to wear his/her school polo shirt, school jumper and dark plain tracksuit bottoms to school on their class PE day.
We look forward to continue to promoting the importance and benefits of PE in school and providing enjoyable, fun PE lessons.
"They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them."
Mr Armstrong led our special Remembrance assembly for P4-7s on Friday morning - the first of its kind since 2019.
Thank you to our P7 pupils who read the poems 'For the Fallen' & 'In Flanders Fields' so well and to Jagoda who laid a poppy wreath on behalf of the whole school.
Monday 14th November sees the start of Anti-Bullying Week, and it kick starts with Odd-Socks Day, as a way to celebrate our differences!
Odd Socks Day is a chance for schools to celebrate Anti-Bullying Week in a positive way by asking pupils and staff to wear odd socks to school. There is no pressure to wear the latest fashion or buy expensive costumes. All you have to do to take part is wear odd socks, it could not be simpler!
