  • Family Connections - supporting families

    Fri 29 May 2020

Family Connections is an excellent service run by Barnardo's which aims to help local families and children whenever you may feel in need of additional support, particularly during this challenging time.   They are delivering a number of short parent programmes and can also be in contact with families by telephone and online.

If you would like additional details, please see the attached fliers for the contact details of Roisin and Charlene.

  • Safer Schools app - children's version now launched

    Fri 22 May 2020

The Safer Schools app is designed to support you, our parents and carers, as you keep the children and young people in your care safer online. The app will provide you with information on how you can make your home and devices safer.  It gives you an in-depth understanding Social Media and the benefits and risks of apps such as Snapchat, Instagram and Houseparty to name but a few.

The Safer Schools App has now been updated with a new version specifically designed for our P5-P7 pupils to download onto their own devices.  We encourage you, as a family, to download this app onto your devices as we work together to keep everyone safer online.

  • AQE update for P6 parents

    Mon 11 May 2020

Don't forget that online registration for this year's AQE tests is due to open on Thursday 14th May  aqe.org.uk  The application process will be open until Friday 25th September so there is no immediate rush to submit your application.  However, places are allocated at each assessment centre on a first-come, first-served basis so if you want your child to sit the tests in a particular school, it would be a good idea to submit your application in the next few weeks.

AQE recommends that you complete the application form online but it will also be possible to submit a paper copy of the application form - please be aware that the processing time for a paper application will be much longer.

We have learned today that the AQE tests have been pushed back by a couple of weeks and the tests will now take place on Saturday 21st November, Saturday 28th November and Saturday 12th December.  We'll know more once the application process opens officially on 14th May.

If there's anything we can do to help you with the application process, please ask!  We can print a copy of the application form for you, for example, or provide evidence of entitlement to free school meals if you can't produce your original letter.
