  • Get ready for Book Week!

    IT'S HERE! On Monday 28th February,  our BOOK WEEK is live and kicking! Every pupil will be a part of our celebration of the wonderful world of books and stories! Who will each class swap a story with? Which story could be chosen to read aloud with 'Extreme Expression'? Who or what will you dress up as for World Book Day on Thursday? Who will read an 'after school story' on our  Instagram account (brooklandsprimaryni)? What special extra surprises could await our pupils...and staff?? 😁 Make sure you're here every day to join in the fun! Spread the word & get ready for a great week! 📚

    What a week we have enjoyed here at Brooklands for Children's Mental Health Week!

    We've sung, danced, drawn, created, imagined, meditated...

    and sooooooooooo much more!

    A HUGE well done to every pupil who took part in a range of Art & Design, PDMU, Drama & Music activities and events in their classroom

    and outside this week! What was your highlight? What did you enjoy the most?

    Tell someone at home what you did & how it helped -

    remember, it really is good to talk!

    If you have a child aged 5 - 11 in a clinical risk group or a child who lives with someone who is immunosuppressed, your child may now be eligible for a vaccination against Covid-19.

  • Children's Mental Health Week Monday 7th Feb - Friday 11th

    Join us in celebrating Children's Mental Health week, beginning Monday 7th February. We have lots of activities planned to highlight mental wellness and nurture the mental wellbeing of our pupils. 

     

    Exciting Times Ahead

    • Daily Mile Monday - Thursday. The whole school will be walking 1 mile each day to get some fresh air and exercise
    • Some children will have yoga sessions with Educalm on Tuesday
    • Wednesday - a day not to be missed - whole school singing in the playground. 
    • FRIDAY - Dress to Express Yourself - come in your most expressive outfit. Will you wear odd socks or shoes? Wacky hair? Lots of bold colours? Clashing patterns? Or just in your favourite outfit? Dress how you feel and have a boogie in the playground :) (No money will be collected)
    • English lessons will be filled with poetry linked to mental health
    • Maths lessons will be kept light and focus on shape and pattern
    • NO HOMEWORK - I repeat, NO HOMEWORK
    • Lots of meditation and mindfulness 

    We are looking forward to celebrating with you next week :) 

  • P6 pupils celebrate Harry Potter day!

    Today our P6 pupils celebrated the 25th anniversary of the publication of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” by holding our first ever Harry Potter day!

     

    Thanks to the publishers Bloomsbury and the National Literacy Trust, we were invited to an exclusive Zoom chat with artist Jonny Duddle who taught us how to draw Hagrid and we also had fun creating collaborative art and quizzes 🪄🧙🦉

  • Post-primary admissions portal is now open!

    It's time for our P7 pupils and their families to apply for their post-primary schools. 

     

    The Education Authority has now opened its online admissions portal https://www.eani.org.uk/parents/admissions where you can view admissions criteria and complete the online application.  The portal will close on 23rd February at 4.00pm.  Click here for further guidance and to watch a video explaining how to use the admissions portal.

     

    Mr Armstrong will be in touch with all P7 parents before half-term to discuss your options.
